Ikat is a craft that tests the skills of two sets of craftsmen — tie-dye experts and weavers — to create some stunning masterpieces. They draw from the cultural nuances of different regions. The tie-die is done so cleverly that once the weaving starts, the colours on the warp and weft fit in beautifully to create exquisite patterns. In single Ikat, only the warp or weft is tie-dyed. Double Ikat where both the warp and weft threads are tie-dyed, is amongst the most complicated process. Pattern on the shoulder done with cutwork and adorned with beads adds to the charm of handcrafted! Thankyou for bringing a handmade story home!   This fabric is hand dyed and hand woven thus may have slight irregularities which result from the human involvement in the process and are hallmark of handcrafted products. Some of the dyes may be naturally derived from vegetables and all natural dyed fabrics are prone to bleeding in first 2-3 washes.
